OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Forming long-term partnerships with local authorities
Networking with interest and action groups in the villages and municipalities
Direct involvement of artists in rural areas
Expanding participation in local cultural and artistic formats (inclusion, senior citizens, young people)

CONTENT AND TOPICS

In order to pass on our voluntary cultural work and experiences, we developed a mobile, temporary and cultural base camp that is also “cool” and exciting for young people, but can also be a place of civic participation and encounters for senior citizens. “Telling history” and “experiencing history” will be the first focus of this encounter and interaction between the generations.

This base camp consists of four converted containers that will be set up as meeting rooms and media stations:

Additional equipment: open-air cinema system for up to 300 spectators, seating, sound system, graphics workshop

This allows us to hold decentralized and independent events, workshops, training courses and projects with digital formats and establish new places for cultural encounters.

The open and flexible usage options make it particularly suitable for use even with contact restrictions.

The Kultainer in Schondorf am Ammersee

STATUS OF THE PROJECT TO DATE

Four office containers were converted into mobile cultural stations in 2021. These mobile cultural stations were set up for 3 months in each of the municipalities of Dießen am Ammersee, Geltendorf and Schondorf and used for various activities. The first experiences were very successful and there was a great need and thus a great willingness on the part of the municipalities for this form of cooperation.

CONTINUATION OF THE 2022 PROJECT

Due to the fact that the building in Landsberg, where the activities and administration took place until then, was sold at the beginning of 2021, this location will no longer be usable for the Kunstbaustelle from summer 2022. The expansion process that has already begun with the cultural stations will therefore become the focus of current planning.

This offers the opportunity to expand the socio-cultural offerings to the entire district and to establish themselves independently of the location in the city. For this reason, cooperation with the municipalities is to be further expanded in a restructuring process.

The municipal administrations, cultural offices, youth centers and youth facilities are to be won over as partners for sustainable cooperation. Contacts have already been established with 8 out of 20 municipalities in the district. The first cooperation projects were successfully implemented with three municipalities in 2021.
